Born and raised in South Florida, Kathleen Denis uses her watercolors to creatively capture tropical, coastal and floral scenes that are familiar to her. Kathleen's work is greatly influenced by the allure of the sea as will as the charm of places once visited.

Kathleen, an award winning artist, has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in graphic design from the University of Miami in 1981. Her work is represented by over 300 galleries, fine gift shops, resorts and private collections, both nationally and internationally. Various companies have selected Kathleen's designs for use on a wide range of products. These include wallpaper, rugs, pillows, mousepads, flags, T-shirts, beach cover-ups, tote bags, pot holders, aprons, kitchen towels, coasters, serving trays, placemats, tiles, hand soap and soap dishes, cross stitch, stationary product, prints, etc.

Kathleen's expression of solitude in her paintings reflects time spent resting, reading and praying, as her work serves to invite the viewer into each scene. In 1984, at a crossroads in her life, she cried out to God, "If you're real then please show me". At that moment Kathleen recalled a neighbor suggesting she read the book of John in the Bible, to know who the true and living God was, and what He would do in her life. Upon removing the dust from her bible, she quickly found the book of John, and much to her surprise, could not put it down. She then asked God to come into her heart, take control of her life and lead her in the way she should go. Having grown up with "religion" it wasn't until this time that she began a relationship with God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

At that time, Kathleen had been working as a commercial artist, but with a desire to create paintings instead of designing ads and logos. In 1994 she presented some of her paintings to a gallery owner and was delighted to have sold all of them. Her first large limited edition lithograph was printed in 1995. To date, there are several large lithographs and a variety of smaller ones.

Kathleen believes that her art is simply an extension of God's hand working though her and often declares, "I like to think that He just lets me hold the brush". Recognizing that her talent is a gift from God, she often incorporates Scripture verses within her images to testify to what the Lord has done in her life and will do for anyone who calls on the name of Jesus ( John 14:6). Her husband, Jeff, formerly a private yacht captain, now manages Kathleen Denis Watercolors. Looking back now they have seen God's hand guiding and leading them through every trial and every victory.

"No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him".
